I am sick with a nasty cold and couldn't go to work this morning. When I get sick, I get bored, and when I get bored, I get anxious and irritable. Luckily for me, I have been meaning to do some more art for quite some time.
So I completed this image in fits and starts during the day. Be gentle. It's my first photomanipulation in over a year, but I would like any feedback you would like to give so long as it's constructive.  Yeah, so many people making pics have this obsession of showing the entire animal. I figure that it's not a conformation shot and I've wanted to do something up close for a while ^_^ -- She understands. She does not comprehend.  Powerful !!!

I stumbled upon some old work that I did from a now defunct studio, and I had a close-up of a horse looking over a beach. It made me want to try another image like that; this gives me even more inspiration! Great stuff!

Critiques
I love the mane and the main horse, but the background looks strange. It's like there's a flat purple area in the bottom corners; the rest behind the horse is pretty good, though I feel there is too much whiteness, which kind of gives a strange look IMHO. The text (not the signature) I'd remove entirely. It's barely readable as-is and completely useless; it detracts from the dreamy feel of it all, since it's just... sitting there. Then again, I don't usually like text in photomanipulations of any kind.
The horse looks gorgeous.
