The Each Uisge was said to be a shapeshifter, taking on the form of either a magnificent horse or pony - or even a beautiful man or women.

Anyone coming into contact with the Water Horse's skin (whether cattle, wildlife or unsuspecting humans) would become stuck fast, unable to free themselves as the creature dragged them into the waters of the Loch Naturally the victim would be drowned, whereupon the creature would be able to feed on the flesh, leaving only the liver behind to be washed up on the shore later...

I have always loved the mythology of the Kelpie and it's even more dangerous relative, the Each Uisge. The mythology about them is fascinating. Perhaps I'll do a series of some of the mythological equines that aren't as well-known as the pegasus and unicorn.

I bought a cactus. A week later it died. And I got depressed, because I thought, Damn. I am less nurturing than a desert.

Me tooo...
Although a bonnie grey kelpie might be a better pet. A playful one that settles for dunking it's victims instead of drowning them.

Oh man, I just had a really funny/cute idea for a new photomanip ^_^
